HELP WANTED: BELLEVIEW PTCO WEB SITE MANAGER

·    Website management is something you can easily do from home during the hours that little ones are asleep, kids are at school or while watching your favorite TV show.

·    Have you ever wanted to create your own blog or website? Or are you already familiar with maintaining website content?

·    The PTCO uses a WordPress based web builder for its existing website and is looking for someone to maintain the website for the 2018-2019 school year. It’s a super easy drag & drop application anyone can learn.

·    Your main duty will be to take the content created by other PTCO members and copy and paste it into the existing website. Then you get to be creative by adding colors, pictures and fun fonts!

·    The bulk of the work happens in the beginning of the school year when the calendar needs to be populated and pages need to be updated for the year. After that, you update when you need to add an upcoming event to the website.

·    Added bonus: Bas Hollander, who has done the website in previous years will still be here to help you and get you started.

Please contact pixiehawkinson@gmail.com if you’re interested or would like to hear more about becoming the PTCO web site manager.

Exceptional Volunteer Nomination

Each year our district recognizes exceptional volunteers at a dinner in April.  The award recognizes volunteers of the Cherry Creek School District for their dedication to our students, faculty, and community.  Please consider all volunteers supporting our school. Each school will select one honoree to be recognized at the exceptional volunteer dinner.  If you wish to nominate a volunteer for this award, send an email or letter to me by January 12th with the name of the volunteer, name of their child(ren) attending Belleview and a brief description telling us, why you nominated this exceptional volunteer.  Please limit to 100 words. If this nominee is selected as the honoree your description may be read the night of the event. While not all volunteers will receive this award, I love hearing about each of our volunteers. I give a huge round of applause to all parents, families and community members who give time to our school.  Even the smallest amount makes a difference.  Belleview is a great school because of the partnership we share with our community. I look forward to seeing you in the classrooms, hallways, or outside as you drop off your children.

Afterschool Dismissal and Reminders

Parents we have recently seen some students confused about where they are supposed to go afterschool.  If your normal routines changes afterschool, please call the main office to have a note delivered to your child to ensure they safely make it to their location. For example, if your child normally rides the bus and they are going to go to Camp Belleview or enrichment we can deliver a note reminding them to not ride the bus and go to Camp Belleview.  We would not want a child to go home alone and have nobody at home to greet them.  Thank you for helping us keep all of students safe at all times.

Thank you Belleview community!!

On Friday, September 8th, the Belleview Community came together to raise funds in support of hurricane victims.  Some very empathetic 5th graders planned and organized a Pajama Day.  By bringing a “bill” to school on Friday, kids were able to spend all day in their comfy PJ’s.  The fundraiser was a huge success!  Thanks to the student’s efforts, and several matching donations by parents and staff, our community raised $7066.20!! The executive board, with input from the fundraiser’s organizers, have decided to donate the money to Olsen Elementary School in Port Aransas, TX.  Hurricane Harvey made landfall directly over Port Aransas as a Category 4 Hurricane.  One hundred percent of the structures in Port Aransas sustained damage, many them catastrophic. Most permanent residents of Port Aransas lost everything; their homes, their personal possessions, their cars, and their source of income.  The three schools on the island (one elementary, one middle, and one high school) all received significant damage and are closed for at least the next 4 – 6 weeks. Teachers have lost teaching materials, the library lost books, and the students have been displaced and are being registered at surrounding schools until their home schools are ready for reopening.  The money raised from this fundraiser will go far in helping this school get back on its feet.  PJ Day Organizers: Rachel, Haley, Ruthie and Anna

Belleview’s biggest fundraiser of the year is September 15th. Cheer on and support your school and student while they run laps for our school.  Each class runs with their grade-level during specials time.  Every dollar goes back to Belleview to pay for our teacher assistants, new classroom technology and programs.

This year Belleview PTCO has teamed up with The Get Movin’ Crew  to make getting pledges easier than ever. Follow these three simple steps to easily reach friends and family across the globe.

1. REGISTER by going to  www.thegetmovincrew.com

2. SHARE your student’s fundraising page via email

3. POST page on Facebook, Twitter, etc… It only takes two clicks to post!

Help Belleview reach our Total School Goal of $40,000 and your students will win some great prizes in the process. Visit  www.thegetmovincrew.com and click on the ‘Get Registered Parent Login’ yellow star today!

Each child should have received their Stampede Registration Information & Pledge Envelope last week. Online donations from www.thegetmovincrew.com DO NOT need to be recorded on the envelope, it is for check & cash donations only.

Help your child’s class, and their teacher win fabulous fundraising incentives!

Congratulations to our newest teacher, Jessica Daubert, for having the most students registered for Stampede on The Get Movin’ Crew website in the firstweek! She wins a Nordstrom Gift Card!
