Attached are the winners of Totally Terrific Teacher Time.  Winners will be contacted by their teacher if any special arrangements are necessary.  Please check to see if your child won a prize and note the date of the prize event on your calendar.  Congratulations to our winners and thanks for supporting your Belleview PTCO.

Delayed Start on May 23rd

On Wednesday, May 23rd Cherry Creek High School will be celebrating their graduation at 8:00 am at Stutler Bowl.  The traffic on and off the Cherry Creek campus will be extremely high.  Due to the increased traffic we will be adjusting the start time for Belleview Elementary School on May 23rd. We will start school at 8:30 am to allow the graduation traffic to settle and allow traffic relief to the streets in our neighborhood.

Students may be dropped off for line up or breakfast at 8:15 a.m. The buses will arrive to your designated bus stop 30 minutes later than normal. For example, if your bus would normally arrive at 7:32 it will arrive at 8:02.  The school buses should arrive at Belleview at about 8:15 am.  If you need assistance with time of your bus stop pick up you can call Rhonda at the main office at 720-554-3100.

We appreciate your understanding and patience with adjusting the start time for this day.  In the past we did not have to adjust our start time, because we did not start school at the same time the high school started graduation.  If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call me (Tiffany Kophs, Principal of Belleview) at 720-554-3100.

Congratulations to our Exceptional Volunteer of the Year, Sarah Wideman

Our Exceptional Volunteer of the year is Sarah Wideman! She is so deserving of this award for multiple reasons, some of which are: chairing Spring Carnival for the past four years, running Belleview Stampede, being a past President and organizing the greatest prizes for the kids in the history of the School. Her positive, always enthusiastic attitude is a bright spot in the volunteer world and she is a delight to work with. We are happy to celebrate her for this prestigious award- if you see her in the halls, be sure to congratulate her.

Attention Fifth Grade Parents!

Belleview library is partnering with Campus library allowing our fifth graders to take part in the 1 Book, 1 Campus reading extravaganza! This program provides each student the amazing opportunity to receive a FREE copy of our selected book courtesy of the Belleview PTCO.

The goal of 1 Book 1 Campus  is simple:  build a community around reading for the sake of reading.  No extra homework or assignments are attached to the book.  Although we will promote the book, the real goal is to enjoy the book and embrace reading for pleasure.

All 5th graders will walk over to Campus library Monday, April 9 after lunch.  Students will meet the Campus librarians, hear about the program, and tour the Campus Library.  Each student will receive a free copy of the Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman.

Cherry Creek sends a HUGE thank you to the Belleview Community!  We still have a little change to count, but I can tell you with certainty that the Belleview Community helped us raise $1500 for Bags of Fun.

Kindergarten had the most points meaning they had WAY more change than cash.

3rd grade raised the most overall- They had $262.95 in Change and $283.00 in cash!

Thank you for your generosity in helping with Power Week!

We had a very successful Dine Out Night at Chick-fil-A. Everyone loved seeing their favorite teachers behind the counter and helping serve food. We all enjoyed chicken and a night off from making dinner. Thank you for your support- we raised over $560 for Belleview. Thanks to Stephanie Longcope for organizing such a fun evening.

HELP WANTED: BELLEVIEW PTCO WEB SITE MANAGER

·    Website management is something you can easily do from home during the hours that little ones are asleep, kids are at school or while watching your favorite TV show.

·    Have you ever wanted to create your own blog or website? Or are you already familiar with maintaining website content?

·    The PTCO uses a WordPress based web builder for its existing website and is looking for someone to maintain the website for the 2018-2019 school year. It’s a super easy drag & drop application anyone can learn.

·    Your main duty will be to take the content created by other PTCO members and copy and paste it into the existing website. Then you get to be creative by adding colors, pictures and fun fonts!

·    The bulk of the work happens in the beginning of the school year when the calendar needs to be populated and pages need to be updated for the year. After that, you update when you need to add an upcoming event to the website.

·    Added bonus: Bas Hollander, who has done the website in previous years will still be here to help you and get you started.

Please contact pixiehawkinson@gmail.com if you’re interested or would like to hear more about becoming the PTCO web site manager.

Each year our district recognizes exceptional volunteers at a dinner in April.  The award recognizes volunteers of the Cherry Creek School District for their dedication to our students, faculty, and community.  Please consider all volunteers supporting our school. Each school will select one honoree to be recognized at the exceptional volunteer dinner.  If you wish to nominate a volunteer for this award, send an email or letter to me by January 12th with the name of the volunteer, name of their child(ren) attending Belleview and a brief description telling us, why you nominated this exceptional volunteer.  Please limit to 100 words. I give a huge round of applause to all parents, families and community members who give time to our school.  Even the smallest amount makes a difference.  Belleview is a great school because of the partnership we share with our community. I look forward to seeing you in the classrooms, hallways, or outside as you drop off your children.

Exceptional Volunteer Nomination

Each year our district recognizes exceptional volunteers at a dinner in April.  The award recognizes volunteers of the Cherry Creek School District for their dedication to our students, faculty, and community.  Please consider all volunteers supporting our school. Each school will select one honoree to be recognized at the exceptional volunteer dinner.  If you wish to nominate a volunteer for this award, send an email or letter to me by January 12th with the name of the volunteer, name of their child(ren) attending Belleview and a brief description telling us, why you nominated this exceptional volunteer.  Please limit to 100 words. If this nominee is selected as the honoree your description may be read the night of the event. While not all volunteers will receive this award, I love hearing about each of our volunteers. I give a huge round of applause to all parents, families and community members who give time to our school.  Even the smallest amount makes a difference.  Belleview is a great school because of the partnership we share with our community. I look forward to seeing you in the classrooms, hallways, or outside as you drop off your children.

Afterschool Dismissal and Reminders

Parents we have recently seen some students confused about where they are supposed to go afterschool.  If your normal routines changes afterschool, please call the main office to have a note delivered to your child to ensure they safely make it to their location. For example, if your child normally rides the bus and they are going to go to Camp Belleview or enrichment we can deliver a note reminding them to not ride the bus and go to Camp Belleview.  We would not want a child to go home alone and have nobody at home to greet them.  Thank you for helping us keep all of students safe at all times.
