Congratulations to our Exceptional Volunteer of the Year, Sarah Wideman

Our Exceptional Volunteer of the year is Sarah Wideman! She is so deserving of this award for multiple reasons, some of which are: chairing Spring Carnival for the past four years, running Belleview Stampede, being a past President and organizing the greatest prizes for the kids in the history of the School. Her positive, always enthusiastic attitude is a bright spot in the volunteer world and she is a delight to work with. We are happy to celebrate her for this prestigious award- if you see her in the halls, be sure to congratulate her.

PTCO Committee Volunteer Needed

Wow! We asked and you answered- Belleview’s PTCO has 46 committees and we only need ONE more position for next year. Would you consider chairing Yearbook? Contact Priscilla Hawkinson if so at: pixiehawkinson@gmail.com

Delayed Start on May 23rd

On Wednesday, May 23rd Cherry Creek High School will be celebrating their graduation at 8:00 am at Stutler Bowl.  The traffic on and off the Cherry Creek campus will be extremely high.  Due to the increased traffic we will be adjusting the start time for Belleview Elementary School on May 23rd. We will start school at 8:30 am to allow the graduation traffic to settle and allow traffic relief to the streets in our neighborhood.

Students may be dropped off for line up or breakfast at 8:15 a.m. The buses will arrive to your designated bus stop 30 minutes later than normal. For example, if your bus would normally arrive at 7:32 it will arrive at 8:02.  The school buses should arrive at Belleview at about 8:15 am.  If you need assistance with time of your bus stop pick up you can call Rhonda at the main office at 720-554-3100.

We appreciate your understanding and patience with adjusting the start time for this day.  In the past we did not have to adjust our start time, because we did not start school at the same time the high school started graduation.  If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call me (Tiffany Kophs, Principal of Belleview) at 720-554-3100.

End of Year Teacher Gifts

As the end of this school year approaches, please show the Belleview teachers & staff how much you appreciate everything they did for our kids this year! Through your contributions, teachers & staff can choose gift cards to treat themselves to their favorite restaurants and stores to enjoy this summer. With this easy gifting program, Belleview teachers & staff receive 100% of your donations and the PTCO gets back a percentage of each gift card to further support the staff throughout the year.

WHAT: Give a monetary gift, in $5 increments, to the Belleview staff and teachers

of your choice as an End-of-Year Gift and thank you

WHEN: by May 7th at 12pm

HOW: Visit the PTCO website at www.belleviewptco.org and look for the Scrips for Teacher/Staff Appreciation link

Attention Fifth Grade Parents!

Belleview library is partnering with Campus library allowing our fifth graders to take part in the 1 Book, 1 Campus reading extravaganza! This program provides each student the amazing opportunity to receive a FREE copy of our selected book courtesy of the Belleview PTCO.

The goal of 1 Book 1 Campus  is simple:  build a community around reading for the sake of reading.  No extra homework or assignments are attached to the book.  Although we will promote the book, the real goal is to enjoy the book and embrace reading for pleasure.

All 5th graders will walk over to Campus library Monday, April 9 after lunch.  Students will meet the Campus librarians, hear about the program, and tour the Campus Library.  Each student will receive a free copy of the Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman.

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure all students feel safe, welcomed and supported at school, we are taking time this spring to share resources about important topics like bullying prevention, social media and Internet safety, suicide prevention and more.

Each week this month, we will be highlighting new resources on the district website and tips for ensuring student safety and wellness. Follow Cherry Creek Schools on Facebook and Twitter for more tips and links to resources.

Maybe you have a friend who could use one. Here’s how it works:  Before you make your purchase at King Soopers, ask the cashier to load the card with whatever amount you wish. Then, just use the card to make your purchase. Belleview PTCO gets 5% of the amount you put on the card. In case you’re wondering, currently that comes to an average of $500 per month for Belleview PTCO. It’s easy money, and easy to increase! Questions? Please contact Katie Ross at kathrinaross@gmail.com.
