Kindergarten, First and Second Graders: Shakespeare Apprentices start this Tuesday, October 31

Your child is invited to join the Belleview Shakespeare Club. We meet everyTuesday7:00 – 7:45am in the gym. On May 1st, 2018, we will put on a fabulous show called Babysitting for the Bard. Please see attached flyer for more details.

Kindergarten Parents:  Please drop off your budding Bard or Bardess in the gym and the Shakespeare teachers will make sure s/he gets to morning K or KEP when the meeting is over. If your child is PM K only please pick up your child at 7:45am at the seats by the front office. Please be on time as the teachers have to get to their classrooms.

General PTCO Meeting, Nov. 1 at 6 PM

Please join us for our next General PTCO Meeting on 11/1 at 6pm. Brian Dino, the Technology Coordinator for Denver Public Schools and a Common Sense Media Ambassador and Certified Trainer for Google for Education will present Managing Family Media Use/Internet Safety.  Join us to hear tips on managing family media use, including choosing appropriate media, home Internet filtering, limiting exposure on social media and phones, and Internet safety.  Tips will also be shared on cyberbullying, good digital behavior and helpful educational websites. Onsite childcare will be provided by Campus Middle School Junior Honor Society Members.

Square 1 Art is Coming

Your child’s Square 1 Art Order Form is coming this week in your Wednesday folders! Don’t miss your opportunity to purchase beautiful high-quality items personalized with your child’s artwork. Check out the display case at school to see samples of many of the unique items available. The best part is that you can place your orders on-line! You may also use the paper order form provided. Belleview Goes To Space, Nov 9

The fifth grade students of Belleview Elementary will be blasting off into space! Have you ever wondered what it’s like or how certain things react in space? Our fifth graders will be finding out with our near space balloon launch! Our launch will be in the making for four weeks and will require our student’s best NASA skills. The community of Belleview is invited to join us for the ten minute launch on November, 9th at 8:05 a.m. at the track. The launch will take approximately 10 minutes with the whole school in attendance.

Belleview Book Fair, Nov 20-21

Our Wild West Belleview Book Fair is coming soon!  We are excited to see you come and shop with your children in the gym on Monday, November 20 from 7:30am-5:00pm and Tuesday, November 21st from 7:30am-2:00pm.  If you are unable to attend, we would love for you to shop the online book fair between 11/17-12/3.  Thank you for your support!  All proceeds go to the Belleview School Library.

We are looking for volunteers to help us staff this great event.  Opportunities to help include setting up the Book Fair on Friday, November 17th, or assisting with student Wish Lists or helping families select books to  purchase. The last shift on Tuesday will help with lunch shopping and tear down the Book Fair.

Cherry Creek Youth Lacrosse Fall Break Clinic

Get to know your future lacrosse head coach at Cherry Creek High School!  The Bruins tradition of excellence continues with the hiring of Matt Bocklet.  Coach Bocklet and Cherry Creek Youth Lacrosse are excited to offer a clinic directed by Coach Bocklet along with coaches and players from his Varsity team. This is a great opportunity to meet the CCHS coaches and players while improving your son’s skills and fundamentals this off season. Players will be divided up by age and experience to effectively teach all skill levels. They will learn new skills, drills, and compete in friendly competitions.

Snow Closure and Delayed Start Protocols

With the possibility of winter weather right around the corner, we want to share some important new information about protocols for school closures and delays. Notice of school closures or delays will be posted as early as possible on local television stations, the district website and the district Facebook page. Additionally, an automated phone message will be sent to all CCSD households as soon as the decision has been made.

WHEN A SCHOOL IS CLOSED:

*Before and After School Day Care Program at the closed schools will be canceled and closed.

*All activities scheduled in District facilities are canceled

WHEN A SCHOOL IS ON DELAYED START:

*Elementary school bus pickup and school start times are delayed 1 hour (60 minutes)

*Before and after school daycare programs operate on normal schedule

*Before school clubs are cancelled

*Kindergarten (AM Take-Home ONLY) buses will depart school at mid-day at their regular times

RED RIBBON WEEK is this week

K-5th grades will have an opportunity each day MondayThursday during their recess time to learn about respecting their minds and bodies by making healthy choices. Monday will focus on exercise. Tuesday includes a visit from Greenwood Village Police and Fire Departments. Wednesday, the kids get to see a pig lung display and learn how damaging smoking can be. Finally, Thursday, they will test their knowledge on healthy food choices. (Flyer attached)

Staff Appreciation Lunch, Oct 11

We will be having our first Staff Appreciation Lunch on Wednesday, October 11th.  Thank you to all that signed up to help treat our amazing teachers and staff to a delicious lunch.  Please have dishes in the staff lounge by 9:00 am. Containers and utensils will be washed and ready for pick up by 2:00 pm.

Belleview/CCHS Spirit Night, Oct 12

Please meet at 6pm at the Belleview tent located in the South parking lot near the Athletic Plaza on Creek’s Campus. Pizza and water will be served, and tickets distributed to all children of registered families.  (Be sure to sign up!!)  Adults can purchase their own tickets for $6 at the box office prior to the 7 pm kickoff.   Then join your fellow Belleview friends and families in our reserved section during the game!! **All children are required to be accompanied by an ADULT for safety reasons, there will be no outside supervision**

Fundraising Goal ACHIEVED!

Way to go Belleview! We hit the School Goal of $40,000 & raised a total of $40,835!

Congratulations to Mr. Daubert’s 5th Grade Class! They topped the classroom donations, raising $3370.

October Count, Oct 2

Parent Information Network Meeting, Oct 3

Join us for the Cherry Creek School District Parent Information Network meeting (PIN) on  Tuesday, Oct 3rd  from  9:15-11:15am  or the evening of Weds,  Oct 11  from  7:00pm-8:45pm . The topic will be “ADHD? Or Just Late, Last and Unorganized”. Walk to School Day, Oct 4 

Join students, families, school leaders, community partners and mayors around the country on October 4 to celebrate the benefits of walking to school during International Walk to School Day. We are looking for at least 2 parent volunteers for each class to help round up the students and walk them over to Belleview. Safe Routes to School Grant

Belleview is participating in the safe routes to school (SRTS) grant.  The SRTS program focuses on safety and wellness.  By promoting walking or bicycling to school there will be less pollution and congestion.  There were 4 options for us to choose from.  We selected to do a bicycle rodeo in the spring.  We will also participate in Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 4th.  If you wish to participate in Walk to School Day meet at Hope church.  We will all walk together.  More information will come about the bicycle rodeo.  As part of the grant there is a voluntary survey for parents.  This survey should only take a couple of minutes.  Click on the attached link to participate in the survey.  Thanks for your support.  Survey link:  https://goo.gl/forms/PNIQekmwwQJIikds2

Staff Appreciation Lunch, Oct 11

We will be having our first Staff Appreciation Lunch on Wednesday, October 11th.  We’d love to have your help with treating our amazing teachers and staff to a delicious lunch.  The theme for this lunch will be ITALIAN.  We would love a mix of traditional, healthy, and gluten free Italian options for our teachers and staff.   We’ve provided a sign up list below with ideas of what you could bring, but please feel free to bring your favorite Italian dish even if it’s not listed.   Click on the link below to sign up!  Italian-Themed Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Belleview/CCHS Spirit Night, Oct 12

Join Belleview friends and families for our 1st Belleview/CCHS Spirit Night on Thursday October 12th at 6pm! Winter Coat Drive

Our Belleview Winter Coat Drive begins Monday, October 2!  Please clean out your closets and bring your clean, gently used winter coats, jackets, and other warm clothing items to school between October 2 and October 16.  K-12 aged kids will benefit, so most school-aged to adult sizes can be accepted.  See the attached flyer for details.  The Philanthropy Club thanks you for your generosity!  Please contact Tracy Swen tracyswen@yahoo.comor Priscilla Hawkinson priscillagtaylor@Yahoo.com with questions.

Parents of all 5th Graders

The time has come to celebrate your 5th grader!  To help commemorate your child’s final year at Belleview, please submit a digital file of their baby picture and a 40-word dedication for printing in the yearbook and a presentation at the Continuation Ceremony (more details in attached flyer).  Please send the baby photo and dedication (and/or questions!) to Kristiina Craven at kgcraven@yahoo.com no later than Friday, November 30, 2017!

Parents of Kindergarten, Frist and Second Graders: Shakespeare Apprentices start October 31

Your child is invited to join the Belleview Shakespeare Club. We meet everyTuesday7:00 – 7:45am in the gym. On May 1st, 2018, we will put on a fabulous show called Babysitting for the Bard.

Kindergarten Parents:  Please drop off your budding Bard or Bardess in the gym and the Shakespeare teachers will make sure s/he gets to morning K or KEP when the meeting is over. If your child is PM K only please pick up your child at 7:45am at the seats by the front office. Please be on time as the teachers have to get to their classrooms.
